Cyber Security Architect
Salary: up to £80,000
Location: UK (Hybrid/Client-site as required)
Clearance: SC required or eligible
We're looking for an experienced Cyber Security Architect to design, assure and lead secure solutions across complex, risk-driven environments. This role suits someone who is comfortable operating at both technical architecture and senior stakeholder level.
Key Responsibilities

Lead the design and assurance of secure architectures across cloud and hybrid environments

Act as a senior security SME, providing pragmatic risk-based advice to clients and delivery teams

Apply and interpret security control frameworks to real-world business and technology challenges

Produce and quality-assure architecture documentation, risk assessments, threat models and recommendations

Investigate significant security incidents and recommend control improvements

Contribute to and review security policies, standards and architectural principles

Act as an escalation point for junior architects, guiding technical design decisions
Essential Skills & Experience
-
Proven experience as a Cyber Security Architect or senior security consultant

CISSP certification - mandatory

Strong experience designing secure architectures in AWS and/or Azure

Solid understanding of security risk, threat modelling, and control design

Experience producing security artefacts such as risk assessments, DPIAs, ESRM, architecture documents

Strong stakeholder management skills, including engagement with senior technical and business leaders

Ability to balance security, risk, cost and delivery constraints

Must hold SC clearance or be eligible to obtain SC
Desirable

Cloud security certifications (AWS/Azure)

Additional security certifications (CISM, CCSP, etc.)

Experience working in UK public sector or highly regulated environments

Knowledge of emerging areas such as AI, data platforms, IoT or complex digital estates
