Full Time Permanent North Dublin onsite

Our client is a leading international logistics and freight forwarding organisation with a strong presence across Ireland and the UK. Due to continued growth, they are seeking an experienced Customs Clearance Manager to join their North Dublin operation. This is an excellent opportunity to join a well-established business where you will play a key role in leading a busy customs function, ensuring compliance, driving operational efficiencies and supporting the development of a high-performing team.

The Role

As Customs Clearance Manager, you will be responsible for overseeing day-to-day customs operations, supporting Team Leads and Supervisors, and ensuring all customs activities are completed accurately and in line with current legislation. This role requires a strong leader with excellent customs knowledge gained within freight forwarding, logistics or customs brokerage.

Key Responsibilities
  • Lead, support and develop a customs team within a fast-paced operational environment
  • Act as the escalation point for customs queries and compliance-related matters
  • Ensure customs processes remain compliant with Revenue, HMRC and relevant customs regulations
  • Oversee import and export customs declarations and associated activities
  • Monitor team performance through KPI reporting and analysis
  • Identify areas for operational improvement and implement process efficiencies
  • Support new system implementation, testing and training initiatives
  • Build strong relationships with customs authorities and internal stakeholdersCollaborate closely with operational teams across the wider business
  • Provide support and guidance to customers on customs-related matters
  • Manage training, performance reviews, workforce planning and employee development
  • Maintain up-to-date knowledge of customs legislation and industry requirements
Requirements
  • Previous experience in a Customs Manager, Customs Operations Manager, Customs Clearance Manager, Brokerage Manager or similar position
  • Strong customs knowledge gained within freight forwarding, logistics or customs brokerage
  • In-depth understanding of import and export procedures and customs compliance requirements
  • Proven experience managing and developing teams
  • Strong understanding of Revenue, HMRC and customs legislation
  • Experience working within a high-volume operational environment
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills
  • Strong organisational and problem-solving abilities
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines
  • Experience driving process improvements would be highly advantageous
  • High attention to detail and commitment to compliance standards
