MCS Group are delighted to be partnering with a fast-growing cybersecurity scale-up that is building out a brand-new engineering hub as part of its European expansion.
This is a unique opportunity to take full ownership of a greenfield product build - redeveloping a Learning Management System (LMS) from the ground up, which will become a core platform for future innovation across the business.
About the CompanyOur client is an established cybersecurity business specialising in protecting critical infrastructure - including utilities, transport networks, and industrial systems.
They operate at the intersection of security, engineering, and real-world impact, helping organisations prevent and respond to cyber threats in complex environments.
With strong growth plans and a long-term investment in engineering, they are now building a new platform that will underpin their next phase of product development.
The RoleThis is not a traditional engineering role.
They are looking for someone who can act as a mini-CTO - a strong hands on engineer with product thinking, capable of taking full ownership of building and launching the first version (MVP) of a new LMS platform.
You will:
- Lead the end to end build of a greenfield product (from concept to delivery)
- Make key product and technical decisions
- Shape the roadmap and platform direction
- Work autonomously with full ownership
- Manage subcontractors or additional resources if required
- Strong full-stack engineering background - You will still be coding day to day!
- Experience building products from scratch (0 1 mindset)
- Comfortable making product and architectural decisions
- Ability to work independently and take ownership
Tech-wise, they are open, but experience across the following is beneficial:
- JavaScript
- Python / Ruby / Go
- Modern web or mobile development
- UI/UX awareness
- Exposure to AI / machine learning (nice to have, not essential)
- Greenfield ownership - build something from the ground up
- Real-world impact - working on technology that supports critical infrastructure
- High autonomy - genuine ownership and decision-making power
- Growth opportunity - be part of a new engineering hub with long-term progression
- Flexible environment - supportive, collaborative, and innovation-driven
