Our Crown Court Clerks are essential to ensuring Crown Court hearings run smoothly. They speak confidently in court, liaise with the Judge, defence, prosecution, media and members of the public, and produce accurate and timely Court documents.

About youWe are looking for a resilient, active listener and confident communicator who can:
- Speak publicly in a court environment.
- Communicate clearly with all court participants.
- Manage and intervene in court proceedings to maximise judicial sitting time.
- Produce precise, time critical documentation (verdicts, arraignments, court orders, hearing outcomes).
Your ability to multi task, work within processes, and adapt to new technologies is essential. Familiarity with IT systems and the willingness to learn are required.
Your skills and experience- Strong public speaking skills.
- Excellent communication, organisational and prioritisation skills.
- Accuracy in completing documents within deadlines.
- IT proficiency and ability to learn new software.
Location: Leicester Crown Court, 90 Wellington Street, Leicester, LE1 6HG, with travel to other Midlands Court locations as required. Full time working hours are 37 hours per week. Part time, flexible and job sharing arrangements are considered.
Your baseline band and salary will be determined upon recruitment. Only candidates with legal right to work in the United Kingdom will be considered. This role is not eligible for the Skilled Worker visa.
