Position: Criminal Solicitor / Chartered Legal Executive
Reports to: Director of Family & Crime
Days of Work: Mon - Fri
Hours of Work: 9:00am - 5:30pm, unless otherwise required
Location: Hereford
Working Arrangements: Office Based
We have an exciting opportunity for a qualified Solicitor, Chartered Legal Executive or experienced Paralegal to build on their expertise and make a real difference in the lives of our clients.This role will be based at our Hereford office.
Key Responsibilities- Representing and advising clients in a variety of criminal matters;
- Where qualifications allow representation of clients at court or attendance with counsel
- Where qualification allow advising clients in the police station;
- Working closely with other members of the team, including but not limited to the Director of Crime, as well as solicitors, paralegals, secretaries, and other support staff;
- Providing advice to clients, in person, via telephone or video conference;
- Drafting legal documents as well as reviewing documentation; and
- Establishing a compelling position for the client, using a complete and accurate understanding of the matter and criminal law.
- Work to a target of 6 billable hours a day and co-operate with the firm's credit control arrangements;
- Be able to work effectively within a team, as well as efficiently running an individual caseload;
- Be professional, organised, competent, enthusiastic and ambitious;
- Be able to work with other fee earners and seek advice and assistance whenever needed to develop knowledge and skills; and
- Regular file reviews which will be undertaken in the office with a senior Solicitor to ensure compliance and client care.
