Our team in Redcar & Cleveland is looking for a Recovery Worker to join the Criminal Justice team in providing high-quality recovery care to a diverse client group. WithYou in Redcar and Cleveland is a free and confidential service for people affected by drugs and alcohol. The service is part of the THRIVE partnership, an integrated substance use, domestic abuse and education/recovery support service. You will be working within a highly skilled and knowledgeable multi-disciplinary team.
As a Recovery Worker, we offer a starting salary of £25,000, rising each year in line with our pay progression salary bands, to £30,000 per year pro rata.
Main duties of the jobAs a Criminal Justice Recovery Worker you will be providing support and advice to people who are subject to criminal justice processes experiencing difficulties due to substance misuse and domestic abuse. You will have the opportunity to complete training in both areas, and strengthen your knowledge of these key strands of our service. You will have your own caseload, working as part of our team and alongside other social care services to identify how we can help. You will develop plans with your clients to help them get their lives back to where they want them to be.
We are looking for a dedicated and understanding individual who is eager to help develop the service in supporting our female client group, whilst working collaboratively with the social care and domestic abuse teams.
You will work as part of a team with the aims of:
- keeping them safe
- creating a plan they can achieve with your support
- checking in with them and reviewing their progress
- keeping accurate and timely records of your contact with them
- working effectively with other social care providers (e.g. Housing) to cover all aspects of their successful recovery
- continuously learning and reflecting to improve the outcomes for your clients
- supporting your colleagues across the service to deliver excellent care
- utilising effective delivery of psychosocial interventions to support clients to successfully comply with court orders and make positive change
Experience
- Have attained ONC/NVQ level 3 or be willing to achieve this within 12 months
- Have demonstrable experience of working or volunteering in health, social care, criminal justice, or other specialist setting
- Successful track record of working or volunteering with people who have experienced substance misuse issues
- Have the ability to build and maintain effective relationships with clients and colleagues alike
- Be able to work effectively in a team, supporting others when needed
- Be resilient under pressure and able to prioritise your work
- Have good oral and written communication skills
- Be IT competent
- Able to be flexible with your working hours on occasion
- Be happy to support other With You locations when needed
