OVERVIEW:
• Excellent opportunity for a Criminal Duty Solicitor to join a renowned and expanding crime team, offering high quality publicly funded work and genuine career development.
• Represent clients detained at police stations and provide advice throughout the criminal justice process.
• Manage a varied caseload covering the full spectrum of criminal offences.
• Conduct advocacy in the Magistrates' Court, including summary trials.
• Opportunity to appear in the Crown Court where Higher Rights are held.
• Deliver consistently high quality legal representation while maintaining excellent standards of client care.
• Suitable for qualified Solicitors with a minimum of 1 year's PQE in criminal law.
• Strong interest and experience in publicly funded criminal defence work required.
• Duty Solicitor accreditation is preferred but not essential, with support available to achieve accreditation.
• Strong advocacy, communication and IT skills are essential.
• Confident using case management systems and able to manage a demanding caseload with minimal supervision.
• Pragmatic, professional and positive approach with excellent attention to detail.
• Ability to work effectively under pressure, meet tight deadlines and contribute positively to a collaborative team.
