Job Description

Are you a credit expert ready to step into the front office?

We're looking for a Credit Underwriter with 5-10 years' experience in financial or credit analysis-think banking, leveraged finance, corporate credit, or Big Four advisory-who's ready to transition into a broker-facing underwriting role within a high-growth, fast-paced insurance environment.

This is your chance to move from backroom spreadsheets to frontline dealmaking.

What You'll Bring

  • Strong credit fundamentals and financial analysis skills in corporate credit, infrastructure, structured commodity trade finance or emerging markets
  • Background in banking, corporate finance, credit risk, or similar.
  • Commercial acumen and a desire to work directly with brokers.
  • Curiosity, confidence, and a collaborative mindset.

Why Now?

The market's shifting. Insurance credit is scaling fast-and the old model of hiring from the same underwriter pool is cracking under pressure. That's why we're building differently: investing in fresh talent from outside the underwriting bubble.

We're open-minded on asset class experience. What matters most is your core analytical strength and ambition to grow into a client-facing underwriting role.

The Role

  • Title: Credit Underwriter
  • Type: Permanent Full-Time
  • Location: City-based Hybrid (2-3 days in office)
  • Focus: Credit analysis, underwriting, broker engagement
  • Salary: £80k-£120k DOE

You'll hit the ground running on credit analysis, while gaining exposure to underwriting and broker interactions from day one-with full support from a close-knit, high-performing team.

What Makes This Role Stand Out

  • Step into a true underwriting role-not just behind-the-scenes analysis.
  • Build a diverse portfolio across corporate, infra, sovereign, and more.
  • Gain real decision-making authority-no 40-page memos or endless approvals.
  • Be part of a team that values initiative, collaboration, and sharp thinking.

Interview Process

  1. Chat with the hiring lead.
  2. Meet key underwriters and credit team members.
  3. Informal coffee with the broader team to ensure cultural fit.
