Our client, a successful and growing financial services organisation, is seeking an experienced Credit & underwriting Manager to lead a busy credit and underwriting function based in South Kerry. This is an excellent opportunity for a Senior experienced people manager from a banking, financial services, lending or regulated environment to join a well-established business with strong growth plans.

Key Responsibilities
  • Lead, manage and develop a team within a busy credit and underwriting function.
  • Drive team performance and ensure service levels and operational targets are achieved.
  • Coach, mentor and support team members to maximise performance and development.
  • Ensure adherence to internal policies, procedures and regulatory requirements.
  • Monitor workflow, productivity and quality standards across the team.
  • Identify opportunities for process improvements and operational efficiencies.
  • Work closely with senior leadership on governance, reporting and risk management activities.
  • Support the ongoing development and implementation of policies, controls and best practices.
  • Build strong relationships with internal and external stakeholders.
  • Ensure a customer-focused approach while maintaining robust risk and compliance standards.
The Ideal Candidate
  • Previous management experience within banking, financial services, lending, credit risk or another regulated environment.
  • Strong people leadership skills with experience managing and developing teams.
  • Good understanding of governance, compliance, policies and regulatory frameworks.
  • Experience working in a fast-paced operational environment.
  • Strong analytical, decision-making and problem-solving abilities.
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.
  • Experience in underwriting, lending or credit operations would be advantageous but is not essential.
  • Strong systems, reporting and process improvement experience.
  • Ability to balance customer service, commercial objectives and risk management.
  • A proactive and hands-on management style.
