Role Summary
The Creative Learning Director will work work with the Artistic and Deputy Artistic Directors to initiate, develop and deliver The Rep's strategy for Creative Learning activity and programming.
The Rep's Creative Learning Director leads thedevelopment and delivery of an inclusive, high-quality
programme of theatre-based learning and engagement.This role connects young people, adults, schools, and
communities with The Rep's work, embeddingparticipation within its artistic and strategic vision.
Working with the Artistic and Deputy Artistic Directors,this role manages the Creative Learning team, builds key
partnerships, and contributes to programming andaudience development. This role is a part of our senior
leadership team and will oversee safeguarding,departmental budgets, fundraising support, and crossdepartmental
collaboration.
Your main responsibilities will be
- To devise and plan a programme of work to engage young and adult participants in the work of The Rep and
in theatre activity in general - To lead the work of the Creative Learning team and manage relevant staff in delivering the agreed programme
- To develop, foster and maintain appropriate relationships with key stakeholders in the education and community sectors
- To be part of The Rep 's audience development strategy through links with communities and participants
- To be part of The Rep 's programming mechanisms to ensure that our communities and stakeholders are represented in our workOversee the design and delivery of open days, workshops, resource packs and other engagement resources around the theatre programme
Our ideal candidate is a strategic, experienced manager withexpertise in arts education, a strong commitment to
diversity, and a passion for theatre's role in learning andcommunity engagement.
Terms and Conditions
Period of Work: This is a permanent contract, subject to successful completion of a probationary period of 6months.
Pay: £50,000 per annum with more for an exceptional candidate.
Hours:39 hours per week to be worked minimum or hours as required, worked flexibly in accordance with business needs. Occasional evening and weekend work will be required.
We don't encourage or expect over time, however, in the event that over time is worked, this may either be paid or taken as time off in lieu to be agreed in advance with your line manager.
Holidays: 25 days per year plus bank holidays rising to 30 days plus bank holidays with continuous service. The holiday year runs from 1 September to 31 August each year.
Notice Period:3months
Location of Work: Your main place of work will be The Rep in Birmingham, but you may be required to work permanently or temporarily at other locations locally.
