The Centre forProcess Analytics and Control Technology (CPACT - ) is amulti-disciplinary collaboration involving 21 universities/research institutesand 44 companies. The administrative centre of CPACT is based at theUniversity of Strathclyde within the Department of Pure and Applied Chemistry.The activities of CPACT involve research, knowledge transfer and training inthe areas of analytical chemistry, data analysis, process optimisation, andprocess performance monitoring. Experts in leading universities work withtechnology vendors and manufacturing companies in the energy, fine/specialitychemicals, petrochemicals, agrochemicals, food and pharma/healthcare sectorsto advance the use of real-time process analysis and process optimisationtechnologies in manufacturing. In essence, CPACT is an international communityof practice based on collaboration between manufacturing companies that deployadvanced measurement and control technology, vendors of the technology -hardware and software, and innovators of new technological solutions forprocess analysis and control.
CPACT wishesto appoint an Admin Assistant to support engagement with the memberorganisations, promote CPACT, and contribute along with other members of theadmin team to the organisation of various activities which include committeemeetings, webinars, other on-line events, in-person courses, workshops and theAPACT conference. You will be ITliterate, with experience of Microsoft Office packages, particularly Word,Outlook and Excel. It would also be good if you have a knowledge of Canva. Youwill have excellent verbal and written communication skills. You will also haveexcellent interpersonal, and team working skills and have the ability tocommunicate with business managers at all levels in academia andindustry.
You shouldalso be experienced in organising your own workload, within a busy officeenvironment, and you will have an ability to work under pressure, using yourown initiative. A willingness to contribute flexibly to a range ofadministrative tasks is essential.Experience of working in an HE environment, or similar, and familiaritywith university procedures and regulations (e.g. Finance Office,Purchasing/Procurement) is desirable but not essential.
