Cover Supervisor Harpenden

Responsibilities

• Supervise whole classes during the short term absence of teachers
• Deliver pre set lesson plans and ensure students remain on task
• Manage classroom behaviour effectively in line with school policies
• Provide support to students where necessary
• Report back to teaching staff on lesson progress and behaviour
• Ensure a safe and productive learning environment
• Follow all safeguarding procedures at all times

Experience

• Experience working with young people (e.g., schools, coaching, youth work)
• Previous classroom or cover supervision experience - advantageous
• Suitable for graduates, aspiring teachers, or experienced education professionals

• Strong classroom and behaviour management skills
• Confident communication and presence
• Ability to engage and motivate students

Educational requirements

• Minimum of GCSEs (or equivalent) in English and Maths
• Safeguarding training (or willingness to undertake training)
