Job Description
Secondary Cover Supervisor - Rushden

Monarch Education is currently recruiting a dedicated and confident Secondary Cover Supervisor to work across a range of secondary schools in Rushden. This role is ideal for individuals seeking classroom experience, aspiring teachers, recent graduates, or experienced support staff looking to take the next step in their education career.

As a Cover Supervisor, you will be responsible for delivering pre-set lesson plans, managing classroom behaviour, and ensuring students remain engaged in their learning. You do not need Qualified Teacher Status (QTS), but you must be comfortable leading a classroom independently.

Key Responsibilities
  • Supervising classes during teacher absences across Key Stages 3 and 4
  • Delivering pre-prepared work and ensuring learning continues effectively
  • Managing classroom behaviour in line with school policies
  • Providing support to students to keep them on task
  • Reporting back to relevant teaching staff after lessons
Requirements
  • Experience working with young people (school-based or transferable)
  • Strong communication and behaviour management skills
  • Ability to build positive relationships with students and staff
  • Flexibility to work across various subjects
  • Must be a current UK resident and eligible to work in the UK
  • Willing to complete an enhanced DBS check and provide two employment references
