Job Description
Role OverviewAn opportunity has arisen for an Associate Solicitor to join a highly regarded Court of Protection team within a leading national law firm. The team is recognised for its expertise in supporting individuals who lack capacity, managing complex financial and welfare matters with sensitivity and care.This role can be aligned to Bristol, Cardiff or across the wider South West and South Wales region. The working pattern is flexible, with an expectation to attend the office approximately once per month.You will handle a varied and high-value caseload, often involving multi-million-pound settlements, acting in the best interests of vulnerable clients and helping to ensure their long-term financial security and wellbeing.Candidate Profile / Experience NeededThe firm is seeking an experienced Court of Protection solicitor who combines strong technical expertise with empathy and excellent client care skills.Key requirements include: 
- As a guide you will have 3-8 years' PQE with solid experience in Court of Protection property and affairs work.
- Strong understanding of Court of Protection procedures and related matters.
- Experience managing complex caseloads, ideally including deputyships and high-value settlements.
- Ability to work confidently with clients affected by serious injury, medical negligence or age-related conditions.
- Private client experience would be advantageous but is not essential.
- Excellent communication skills and a collaborative, team-oriented approach.
- Interest in business development and building client relationships.
- The chance to join a nationally recognised, collaborative Court of Protection team handling complex and meaningful work.
- High level of autonomy managing deputyship and trust matters while supported by experienced colleagues.
- Flexible working model with limited office attendance (circa once per month).
- Salary guidance, £53,000 -£70000 dependant on experience.
