The RoleAs a Paralegal, you will work with a team of partners, solicitors, and paralegals in Anthony Gold's Court of Protection department.
Your role will include the following, but additional tasks may be added as appropriate for the role:
- To assist in the provision of administrative and legal services for clients.
- To assist, where requested, in the provision of legal advice to clients, under supervision. Take notes in client meetings.
- Attend clients at hospitals, care homes and in their home.
- Make regular payments to clients and keep accurate schedules of these payments. Also forecast forward spending and creating of budgets.
- Day to day contact with clients and their individual lifestyle requirements.
- Manage professionally and confidentially, written and telephone correspondence with clients, other solicitors and third parties.
- Delegate and supervise tasks where appropriate.
- Work as a part of a team under the supervision of a Partner of the firm.
- May also receive cases from several Partners and solicitors within the team.
- Provide an efficient and friendly service to our clients.
- Produce plain English letters, witness statements, court applications, and other documents as required.
- Maintain client care standards as set out in the firm's terms of business and office manual.
- Continue to develop your legal ability.
- Able to work to tight deadlines.
- Good Microsoft skills particularly Word and Excel.
- Flexible and proactive approach with a 'can do' attitude.
- Works well under pressure.
- Organised and able to prioritise.
- Excellent oral and written communication skills.
- Excellent interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work with figures.
A degree in Law and previous experience working in a Court of Protection role is preferred but not essential.
