Job Description
County Administrator - Gloucester

The closing date is 12 May 2026

This important role provides administrative support to the Operations team. Reporting to the County Business Manager, the primary purpose is to assist in the smooth running of the County.

Responsibilities
  • Monitor and administer sickness absence.
  • Record key performance indicators (KPIs) for the County.
  • Ensure sufficient supply of essential non pay items.
  • Assist the local management team with the administration and coordination of new starters and leavers.
  • Prepare reports and papers for County meetings.
  • Act as the point of contact for initial enquiries from the public, operational staff and Trust HQ.
  • Respond to incoming correspondence as directed by the County Business Manager.
  • Maintain a suitable filing system for the County and coordinate a "bring forward" system.
  • Serve as an informal mentor and role model for the apprentice.

Qualifications / Person Specification
  • 4 GCSEs (grade C or above) or equivalent including English and Mathematics or Level 2 Function Skills
  • Experience of maintaining databases, working to deadlines, collating and maintaining records
  • Computer literate and proficient in Microsoft Office - Word, Excel and Outlook
  • Ability to multitask and self manage workload while adhering to procedural deadlines
  • Experience of working in an NHS or Emergency Services organisation
  • European Computer Driving Licence
  • Knowledge of sickness management
