Overview

Here at Brockenhurst College, we are looking to recruit a Counselling Tutor on a permanent claim's basis. In return, you will receive a competitive salary of £25.64 to £43.03 per hour DOE.

The Counselling Tutor Role

As the Counselling Tutor, you will deliver the Counselling Course levels 2 to 3 to Adults attending evening courses as agreed with the Adult Learning and Professional Skills Manager.

Key Responsibilities of the Counselling Tutor
  • Mark registers and provide documentation in line with College policies
  • Work closely with the Adult Learning and Professional Skills Manager, particularly with regards to the recruitment, monitoring
  • Pay due attention to the principles of inclusive learning including:
    • individual learning styles
    • support for students with learning difficulties and disabilities
    • extension resources/activities for students of higher ability
  • Contribute to the design, delivery and future planning and development of curriculum
  • Maintain an up-to-date knowledge of developments and research in Counselling
  • Promote the sharing of good practice in the development of teaching methods and strategies.
  • Participate in the College's teaching, learning and assessment quality cycle
About You
  • Level 4 Counselling/Psychotherapy or related L4 qualification
  • Certificate or Diploma in Education and Training and/or PTLLS (or willing to work towards a Teaching Qualification)
  • Extensive experience as Counsellor with a minimum of 3 years in the role
  • Knowledge and understanding of current developments in Counselling/Psychotherapy
  • Evidence of working towards and achieving personal targets
  • The ability to relate well to learners of all abilities and to assess learner needs
  • Empathy with and strong commitment to meeting the needs of individual students
