Reporting to: Lead Coordinator
Working Hours: Full time (37.5hrs/week) or part time (4 /week)
Contract Type: Permanent
Salary: £26,186 (Full time) PT will be pro-rata
Location: Predominantly home-based but some requirement to Kempston Office
About Our Client
Our client is a registered charity dedicated to providing essential emotional and practical support to individuals affected by fatal and serious road collisions across Bedfordshire, Cambridgeshire, and Hertfordshire. Each year, they support over 550 individuals, working collaboratively with local Roads Policing Units to ensure the highest standards of victim care.
The Role
Our client is currently seeking a Counselling Coordinator to join their passionate team. In this critical role, you will manage new case referrals, arrange counselling provisions, maintain a small clinical caseload, and oversee various administrative tasks.
Please Note: If the applicant is external to the organisation (i.e. not a current volunteer) the successful applicant would be required to complete a 5 week in-person training course.
Our client will be in touch with information on dates of their current training course to be held in Huntingdon in February/March 2026.
Key Responsibilities:
- Manage new case referrals, including follow-ups and communication with potential clients and relevant agencies.
- Coordinate the deployment of volunteers and manage room bookings as needed.
- Maintain a caseload while liaising with partner organisations to provide comprehensive support.
- Keep accurate records of client cases and monitor counselling volunteer recruitment and training.
- Participate in ongoing training and attend meetings to foster a collaborative environment.
Ideal Candidate:
- A recognised diploma or degree in Counselling.
- Membership of BACP/UKCP or an equivalent body.
- Experience working with trauma and bereavement.
- Strong administrative skills and proficiency in Microsoft 365.
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to engage with diverse clients.
- A full driving licence and access to a vehicle.
- A commitment to continuous personal and professional development.
