About your new role
Our Costs and advocacy team handles all elements of costs, from low-value disputes and fixed recoverable costs to high-value and complex costs matters across a broad spectrum of commercial and personal injury litigation. We attend CCMCs and application hearings to manage all aspects of the claim, not just costs. We advise throughout the claim lifecycle, including initial reserving and estimates, budgeting, and at conclusion-whether to recover or dispute costs. This role can be based in our Manchester, Liverpool, London, or Birmingham offices.
The successful Costs Lawyer will have at least 5 years' experience in costs litigation. Ideally, the candidate will be a qualified costs lawyer with experience in both Defendant and Claimant work, including advocacy, drafting costs budgets, bills of costs, Points of Dispute, Replies, negotiating settlements, drafting Schedules of Costs, and handling high-value cases in personal injury and commercial litigation.
They should be able to prioritize effectively, work well within a team, and possess excellent attention to detail. Strong communication and negotiation skills are essential, along with the ability to work efficiently under pressure.
