Hays are delighted to be partnering with a highly successful and innovative manufacturing business as they seek to appoint a Cost/ Commercial Analyst. This is an excellent opportunity to join a growing organisation operating within a specialist market, where you will play a key role in driving commercial decision-making, financial analysis, procurement performance and cost optimisation across the business.

Reporting directly to the Financial Controller, this role offers a unique blend of finance, commercial analysis and procurement, providing excellent exposure to senior stakeholders and strategic projects.

Your new role

As Cost and Commercial Analyst, you will be responsible for delivering data-driven insights that support profitability, operational efficiency and procurement performance. Working closely with finance, sales, production and supply chain teams, you will analyse financial and operational data, identify cost-saving opportunities and support strategic sourcing initiatives.

What you'll need to succeed

  • Degree qualification in Finance, Accounting, Business, Economics or a related discipline.
  • Experience within a commercial finance, business analysis, procurement analysis or operational finance role.
  • Strong financial and analytical skills with the ability to interpret complex data and present meaningful insights.
  • Advanced Microsoft Excel skills, including data analysis, modelling and reporting.
  • Proven ability to analyse costs, profitability, spend patterns and business performance metrics.
  • Strong commercial acumen with an understanding of budgeting, forecasting and financial controls.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
  • Strong communication skills with the ability to influence stakeholders across the business.


Desirable

  • Experience within manufacturing, supply chain, procurement or operations environments.
  • Exposure to supplier performance analysis and procurement reporting.
  • Understanding of inventory management, working capital and cost optimisation principles.
  • Knowledge of imports, tariffs, duties and international supply chain processes.
  • Experience using ERP systems and business intelligence tools.
