Corporate Researcher

We're looking for a proactive and commercially aware volunteer to support the growth of our corporate partnerships across the North of England, with a focus on businesses connected to the Northern Forest.

The Northern Forest stretches from Liverpool to Hull, connecting people, nature, and opportunity across the region. This role will help in identifying and engaging businesses whose values align with environmental sustainability, climate resilience, and community impact. By strengthening our pipeline of prospective partners, identifying opportunities for collaboration, and providing insight into the business landscape across the Northern Forest, you'll help unlock new relationships that generate funding and long-term support for tree planting, woodland creation and nature recovery.

You'll be undertaking initial research to identify organisations with operations, supply chains, employees, or customers across the Northern Forest, along with their ESG priorities and key decision-makers, preparing briefing notes for meetings with prospective partners, supporting introductory outreach, such as drafting emails or LinkedIn messages where appropriate, and sharing insights into the northern business landscape to help inform our engagement with prospective partners. Note that there may be occasional opportunities to attend business networking events alongside Woodland Trust colleagues.

This is a great opportunity to gain hands-on experience in corporate partnerships and business development within a purpose-driven organisation, developing insight into how environmental charities work with businesses, with the opportunity to support the Northern Forest while developing commercially valuable research and stakeholder engagement skills.
