About the RoleThe highly regarded Funds Team is looking for a Corporate Assistant to join the London office of Maples and Calder. The successful candidate will assist in the day-to-day establishment and maintenance of an active portfolio of Cayman domiciled investment funds across private equity, hedge and alternative asset classes, as well as general corporate work. The candidate will have a high level of client interaction, thus must possess strong communication skills (both written and oral). It is also essential that the candidate be well organised, have good attention to detail and be able to work comfortably in a professional environment with tight timetables and multiple deadlines.
Responsibilities- Providing assistance to the funds team with the set up and formation of Cayman funds structured as companies, partnerships and unit trusts;
- Preparing, reviewing and/or assisting with the drafting of documentation required to make various regulatory filings in the Cayman Islands in respect of group's portfolio of companies, partnerships and trusts;
- Lead liaison with legal teams at onshore law firms in connection with the launch and registration of new funds and their ongoing maintenance;
- Lead liaison with Maples Corporate Services in the Cayman Islands in relation to legal and regulatory filings;
- Accurately completing e filing submissions;
- Taking any action required to facilitate billing processes and Work In Progress (WIP) control;
- Co ordinating across legal and corporate services teams to deliver a seamless service experience for clients;
- Assisting with special projects from time to time.
This post requires significant attention to detail, professionalism, ability to multi task, and excellent organisational, prioritisation and communications skills. In addition, the successful candidate will be required to adhere to internal policies and procedures.
