Main function of job
(Note: in addition to these functions employees are required to carry out such other duties as may reasonably be required.)
You will be allocated your own caseload, you will report to the Office Holder for the case. You will have administrators/junior staff assist you on your cases as required.
The work will involve the general administration and management of case work for:
Administrations
- Members Voluntary Liquidations
- Creditors Voluntary Liquidations
- Compulsory Liquidations
- Company Voluntary Arrangements
- Bankruptcies
- Individual Voluntary Arrangements
- Restructuring and other non-formal appointments
Working for the managers/office holders in respect of cases allocated to you the role will involve the preparation of reports and statements of affairs for meetings of creditors, drafting administration proposals, preparing the declaration of solvency and paperwork for MVLs, interviewing directors, undertaking investigations into companies and individuals, preparing conduct reports, communicating with creditors and debtors, preparation of both annual and final reports to interested parties (including making distributions where appropriate) and ensuring compliance with the relevant legislation and best practice. In addition the role will require you to train and co-ordinate work with junior members of staff.
You will be expected to ensure you keep yourself technically up to date to enable you to continue to perform your day to day work. You may also be required to assist in maintaining and developing the firm's documentation and systems.
As part of your role you may be expected to assist with developing relationships with potential work referrers and attend some marketing events.

Qualifications/education required
- Minimum education to A Level standard
- CPI / ICAEW Certificate in Insolvency
- ACA / ACCA/ ICAEW Certificate in Finance Accounting and Business (preferred)
- JIEB (preferred)
Experience required
- Minimum of six years' experience of insolvency procedures and administration sufficient to manage their own caseload.
- Accountancy and analytical skills and a good, up-to-date understanding of the technical and legislative aspects of insolvency is important.
- Ability to work in a team environment where regular and clear communication with partners, managers, other team members and external parties is essential
