Core Banking Engineering Lead

Join HSBC UK Technology as a Core Banking Engineering Lead and play a pivotal role in shaping the future of banking for 14.8 million customers. What you'll do:
  • Lead engineering strategy, architecture, and platform convergence for UK Technology.
  • Drive operational resilience, automation, and high-quality code delivery.
  • Partner with business and product leaders to translate customer needs into technology solutions.
  • Provide senior technical leadership on modernisation, cloud adoption, and API integration.
  • Foster a culture of innovation, accountability, and collaboration.
What you'll bring:
  • Extensive experience in DevOps/software engineering, CI/CD, and cloud platforms (especially Azure).
  • Deep knowledge of coding languages (Python, C++, JavaScript, HTML).
  • Senior leadership in large-scale, regulated financial services environments.
  • Strong understanding of UK banking regulation, operational resilience, and risk management.
  • Exceptional stakeholder management and communication skills.
