Cook

We are seeking a reliable and experienced Nursery Cook to prepare fresh, nutritious meals for children under five in a nursery setting. This role is Monday- Friday, 9:00am- 4:00pm based in Leyton.

Key Responsibilities

• Prepare healthy snacks, lunches and afternoon tea in line with nursery menus.
• Cater for individual dietary requirements, allergies, intolerances and cultural preferences.
• Maintain high standards of food hygiene, safety and cleanliness within the kitchen.
• Complete daily food temperature checks and hygiene records.
• Manage food stock, rotation and weekly online ordering.
• Ensure kitchen equipment is cleaned, maintained and reported if faulty.
• Support the wider nursery team and contribute to a positive environment.

Requirements

• Food Hygiene Level 2 Certificate (essential).
• Enhanced DBS on the Update Service
• Previous cooking experience, ideally within a nursery, school or childcare setting.
• Good understanding of food allergies, dietary requirements and food safety procedures.
• Knowledge of Health & Safety regulations and safe kitchen practices.
