We are seeking to appoint a new cook to join our team at Molescroft Primary School. This post will suit an established caterer with some previous experience of working in school catering although not essential. The ideal candidate will desirably hold a catering qualification, such as NVQ level 2/ 706 1 + 2 and a minimum of Level 2 Food Hygiene qualification.

You must have a good knowledge of the allergen legislation introduced by the government in 2014 and a working knowledge of the Government's Food Standards regarding school food and drink, along with some knowledge of special dietary needs and nutritional requirements or be willing to attend the necessary courses to gain the appropriate knowledge and skills.

You will need to be a team player who can work to a high standard, whilst possessing the appropriate supervisory skills to manage a kitchen. You will also need to be approachable, enthusiastic, flexible, and committed to providing and developing the school's meal service further.

You will be responsible for the preparation, cooking, and service of food daily including managing the kitchen and hall staff.
