What you'll be doing:

You will be a welcomed team member, working in a fast paced environment where you will make a meaningful difference in residents' lives. As a Cook, you will prepare nutritious, high quality meals while gaining an understanding of residents' dietary needs, preferences, and cultural considerations. You will contribute to creating enjoyable dining experiences that support residents' health and well being. As an individual and part of a wider team, you will be a strong contributor to the culture of the home, where the focus is always on helping residents live fully, every day.

What makes you a great fit:
  • Hands on experience preparing meals and snacks in a fast paced kitchen, following recipes, production sheets, and menu guidelines.
  • Understanding the importance of meeting prescribed dietary requirements, proper food temperatures, and portion control while maintaining high quality standards.
  • Monitoring quality of food supplies received and advising team leader of problems and making recommendations about corrective action.
  • In the absence of the team leader, assuming responsibility for departmental operations including menu changes as necessary, requisitions, and purchasing food and other supplies from authorized suppliers.
What you need to know:
  • Grade 12 minimum education required.
  • A valid Safe Food Handling Certificate and/or Smart Serve certificate.
  • Experience with cooking in institutional, health care, restaurant, or hospitality settings.
  • Legally eligible to work in Canada or possessing a valid work/study permit.
  • Successfully passing a Vulnerable Sector Check.
  • Sienna Senior Living may utilize artificial intelligence to screen or assess applicants for this position.
