Job Description

Leading a team in relation acting on behalf of and giving conveyancing legal advice to private and commercial clients under supervision of the Senior Management team. Progressing files including drafting legal correspondence, corresponding with clients and any experts and managing fee earners within the department.

Key Responsibilities

Primary Responsibilities

  • Agreeing the strategy of transactions with Supervisor and taking instructions and advising clients on Legal matters relevant to their transactions
  • Building strong relationships with clients and third parties
  • Carrying out file reviews and Risk Assessments.
  • Handling communication with clients, solicitors, third parties etc.
  • Following the protocol and standards that are set to include the management of the legal and administrative aspects of buying and selling property, from beginning to end.
  • Conducting investigations and documentary research.
  • Locating and developing case relevant information.
  • Adhering to deadlines.
  • Setting the strategy for transactions for conveyancing team members
  • Handling a caseload of freehold/leasehold sales, purchases, transfers and remortgages.
  • Managing the team's caseload
  • Helping to develop the skills of the members of the team
  • Following all policies and procedures as set by the Organisation
Person Specification

Qualifications & Training - Essential

  • A Minimum of 12 months of working within the field.
  • Law degree.

Experience - Essential

  • Previous experience in a fast-paced office environment
  • Communication skills: You will be working with a wide range of people, from solicitors to their clients, so the ability to communicate well and in a professional manner is essential.
  • Written communication skills: excellent spelling and grammar. A high level of written English
  • Attention to detail: high level of accuracy when preparing legal documents or filling out forms and statements.
  • Teamwork: able to work with clients, lawyers, and other legal secretaries
  • Strong sense of discretion
  • Courteous and professional demeanour
  • Demonstrate that they can cope well under pressure
  • Ability to work towards a monthly target
  • IT skills: Most work is be carried out electronically.
  • MS Office and ability to work with legal technology (court-filing computer systems, transcription software, Dictaphone etc)
  • Legal terminology, regulations and court system, although full training will be given
