Our client, a well-established and highly regarded law firm with a strong presence across the Southwest, is seeking an experienced Conveyancer to join their busy and supportive team in Newton Abbot.
This is an excellent opportunity for a motivated and detail-oriented individual to join a thriving property department, handling a varied caseload of residential conveyancing matters within a firm known for its client-focused approach and strong local reputation.
The role will involve managing your own caseload from instruction through to completion, including:
- Freehold and leasehold sales and purchases
- Re mortgages and transfers of equity
- New build transactions
- Shared ownership and Help to Buy matters
- Lease extensions and other associated property work
You will be responsible for ensuring transactions are progressed efficiently, maintaining regular communication with clients, estate agents, lenders, and other third parties to ensure a smooth and timely process.
Key responsibilities will include:
- Managing files independently with minimal supervision
- Conducting title checks and reviewing searches
- Drafting and reviewing contracts and transfer documents
- Handling enquiries and reporting to clients on all aspects of the transaction
- Dealing with exchange of contracts and completions
- Ensuring compliance with all regulatory and internal procedures
- Maintaining accurate records and updating case management systems
- Assisting with post completion formalities, including Land Registry submissions
The ideal candidate will:
- Be an experienced Conveyancer, Solicitor, Legal Executive, or Licensed Conveyancer
- Have a strong background in residential conveyancing
- Be confident managing a full caseload independently
- Demonstrate excellent organisational and time management skills
- Possess strong communication and client care abilities
- Take a proactive and commercial approach to their work
