About your next role:

This role serves to provide a consistent testing process that confirms the operational ability, plus safety and quality of control panels assembled by the Bensons manufacturing team. It also ensures conformance to design and equipment specifications and compliance with operational and safety standards.

Bensons manufactures a broad range of panels for many different marketplaces, these can be large-sized batches and also unique one-offs.

Your duties will include:

  • Inspect completed panels to ensure conformance to design and equipment specifications and compliance with operational and safety standards.
  • Complete point-to-point testing of electrical components, completing electrical inspection and testing of low voltage switch gear using up to 415Vac 3 phase supplies.
  • Complete functionality and operational testing of the control panel against the design specifications.
  • Fault finding within the control panel build and rework to resolve where this falls within the defined SOP of the department.
  • Use appropriate tools and equipment in line with safety standards outlined by company policies, departmental procedures and guidelines.
  • To maintain a clean, tidy and safe workplace within all areas of the department.
  • Provide build and manufacture guidance to the controls production department, where required, to assist in the build process.
  • To record any changes or deviations from the work documentation identified during construction.
  • Ensuring the safe use of electrical testing equipment.
  • Completion of electronic and paper-based documentation to ensure an accurate record of testing is available.
  • To record stages of test and inspection and time taken on the MRP system

What essential skills will we be looking for you to demonstrate?

  • Proven experience in electrical control panel testing, with a background in control panel wiring
  • Strong knowledge on electrical systems and components
  • An aptitude for fault diagnosis and problem solving
  • Good communication skills and confidence to work with customers
  • Ability to work under pressure
  • Basic knowledge of Microsoft Office

6:30 - 15:30 Monday to Thursday, 7:00 - 12:00 pm Friday

40 minutes paid lunch each day

Salary from £35k depending on experience
