Contracts Manager / Estimator - Painting & Decorating
Strong Group is working on behalf of a well-established painting contractor who are looking to recruit a Contracts Manager / Estimator on a permanent basis in the Cardiff area.
Location: Cardiff
Salary: DOE + Bonus + Company Car
Start Date: ASAP
Employment Type: Permanent
Strong Group is seeking an experienced Contracts Manager / Estimator to oversee painting and decorating projects from initial enquiry through to completion. This role involves pricing, securing, and managing contracts, ensuring projects are delivered on time, within budget, and to the highest standards.
Key Responsibilities- Survey properties and structures for painting works
- Prepare accurate cost estimates including labour, materials, and timeframes
- Produce competitive and well-presented tender packages
- Create risk assessments and method statements, ensuring full HSE compliance
- Manage contracts from start to finish
- Oversee site-based operatives and ensure productivity targets are met
- Maintain quality standards and ensure project delivery aligns with client expectations
- Proven experience pricing painting and decorating projects
- Track record of winning contracts through competitive tendering
- Strong commercial awareness and financial understanding
- Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously
- Experience managing site teams and operatives
- Ability to take projects from pre-construction through to completion
- Strong IT skills
- Full UK driving licence
