Contracts Manager: Glasgow, Scotland

Salary : £50,000 - £62,000k + car/allowance, bonus

MacArthur Recruitment is working with a leading contracts firm and are helping them by looking for a steel framing experienced Contracts Manager to work for a family type business. They are prospering and growing and have a good pipeline of current and future projects. An autonomous role covering the Central Belt of Scotland and the NE of England (eg Newcastle). You will be overseeing multiple sites working for this well organised and friendly company.

Main responsibilities for the role of Contracts Manager :

We are looking for a driven and experienced Contracts Manager to lead the successful delivery of multiple SFS (Steel Framing Systems) framing projects. You will take ownership of site operations, coordinate project teams, and ensure all works are completed safely, on schedule, and to exceptional quality standards.

Requirements for the role of Contracts Manager :

  • Demonstrable experience in construction management
  • Solid understanding of Light Gauge Steel / SFS systems, or similar - dry-lining, cladding, curtain walling (advantageous)
  • Background in managing multiple live construction sites
  • Strong leadership, communication, and organisational capabilities
  • Ability to deliver in line with construction drawings, programme and specifications
  • CSCS card and SMSTS certification
  • Full UK driving licence

Key Accountabilities for the role of Contracts manager will include :

  • Lead and manage SFS / light gauge steel installation projects from inception to handover
  • Organise and oversee site teams, subcontractors, and material suppliers
  • Ensure all activities align with project programmes, drawings, and technical specifications
  • Uphold rigorous health & safety standards across all project sites
  • Build strong working relationships with main contractors, clients, and key stakeholders
  • Track project performance and provide regular updates to senior leadership
  • Address on-site challenges promptly to maintain project momentum
  • Carry out routine site visits, inspections, and quality assurance checks
