We have an exciting opportunity for a Contracts Manager to join our team within Vistry Works, overseeing multiple sites. As our Contracts Manager, you will be responsible for the overall management of these sites, focusing on planning, programming, and addressing high-level issues beyond daily site operations.
You will handle site/plot call-offs and collaborate with key personnel. Your role includes scheduling labor and materials, ensuring correct allocation, and programming activities to minimize delays and disruptions, promoting efficient operations.
This role covers the following areas: Milton Keynes, Northampton, Bedfordshire, Hertfordshire, Cambridge, Peterborough, Essex, and Oxford.

- Experience in large, fast-paced developments in the new build housing sector
- Proven planning and programming skills, especially with timber frame products
- Experience collaborating with production/construction teams
- Knowledge of Timber Frame/MMC construction
- Effective communication skills with stakeholders
- Proficiency in MS Office, Coins, and Asta
- Strong health and safety awareness
- Leadership skills to develop high standards within teams
- Understanding of Building Regulations and NHBC standards
- Financial acumen related to budgets and targets
- Leadership and motivational skills
- Strategic problem-solving abilities
- Experience in planning, estimating, and working independently or in teams
- Valid UK driving license
- Minimum GCSEs in Maths and English; higher education in Built Environment preferred
- Broad experience in Timber Frame/Manufacturing sectors
- Interest in MMC and sustainability initiatives
- Understanding of manufacturing, logistics, and on-site safety
- Experience managing costs and dealing with unexpected issues
- Assist in tender and bid preparations
- Review contracts and H&S documents regularly
- Coordinate with factories and site teams on schedules
- Lead pre-start and progress meetings
- Develop operational improvements
- Ensure timely enabling works and manage delays
- Report on progress, quality, and safety
- Plan deliveries and labor requirements
- Manage on-site erection teams and ensure quality standards
- Resolve erection issues and communicate feedback
- Ensure statutory compliance
- Build relationships with competitors and stakeholders
- Work across various locations as needed
- Support the expansion of subcontractor and labor resources
- Report to the Construction Manager on daily operations
