Job: Associate Director / Contracts Manager

Boyd Recruitment are currently recruiting for a medium sized family run Civil Engineering contractor based in central Scotland.


Our client has been in operation for over 30 years and have built a successful business with a stable client base including frameworks in the private and public sectors.


Due to expansion and succession planning, they are looking to engage an Associate Director / contracts manager with the opportunity to grow into a senior role within the organisation.


Our client delivers a diverse selection of products including:


Civil works


Security contracts


Energy and infrastructure projects

The Job

The Associate Director / Contracts Manager will be responsible for the general management and commercial success of the civil engineering division of the business. You will be responsible for a management team of around 5 and a labour workforce of about 50.


You will be responsible for the profitability of the business. This will be managed through meticulous CVR management, communication with your team and your diplomatic approach to variations and client requirements.


You be expected to business develop on behalf of the client. This will be in the form of meeting existing clients, as well as attending tender meetings and networking events.


The business is at a comfortable size, organic growth is always a possibility, but increasing profitability through efficiency is always a company target.


The Candidate

The successful candidate will have:


demonstrable management experience in the Civil engineering contracting market, ideally as a sub-contractor


Experience in Estimating


Experience in managing a team


Experience of managing multi sites


Experience of managing CVR / Cost and budget management


Be an excellent communicator and lead teams to a common goal


Have a flair/ desire to learn business development help build the business


Be willing to work across central Scotland


Have a can-do attitude and work additional hours when required.


Salary: £70000 - £80000/annum
