Consultant Psychiatrist - Part time

This role offers an excellent opportunity to work within a highly collaborative team, supported by a Medical Secretary and a Specialist Doctor to ensure efficient daily operations.

You will work closely with multidisciplinary teams to provide holistic, person-centered care based on the recovery model, and support high-quality clinical services at the hospital.

As a Consultant Psychiatrist, you will be:

1. Taking clinical responsibility for patients, including ward rounds, risk reviews, and therapeutic milieu development.
2. Fulfilling the role of Responsible Clinician under the Mental Health Act (1983).
3. Providing psychiatric insights during assessments, formulations, and treatments.
4. Participating in management and clinical governance meetings, and contributing to service strategy development.
5. Supporting in-house training and supervising junior medical staff.
6. Maintaining CPD and re-validation requirements as per the Royal College of Psychiatrists.
7. Being part of an on-call Responsible Clinician rota.

To be successful, you will:

• Be medically qualified, MRCPsych or equivalent.
• Be innovative, with strong decision-making skills.
• Have current knowledge of psychiatry and mental health developments.
• Possess knowledge of change management, legislation, and contractual issues in mental health services.
• Have previous experience in a management role as a Consultant.
