Job Description
Overview

We are looking for an enthusiastic Radiologist with a subspecialist interest in Gastro-intestinal (GI) imaging to support local services in line with current strategic priorities. There is a need to continue to develop links and closely support the Surgical and Gastrointestinal Consultants. Job responsibilities

Responsibility for Patient Care

  • To ensure a high quality, patient-focused professional service is delivered at all times.
  • To be responsible for and ensure the care and comfort of the patient whilst in the department and during the examination.

Planning and organising

  • Be organised and focused on tasks allocated within the job plan.
  • Be responsive and flexible to the department's needs.
  • Ensure timely attendance to booked lists or reporting sessions.

Responsibilities for Physical and / or Financial Resources

  • Ensure equipment is treated with care and respect.
  • Time is utilised in accordance with Job Plan principles.
  • Any additional work is appropriate and claimed in line with departmental policy.

Responsibilities for Policy and Service Development and Implementation

  • Conform to safety regulations by wearing protective equipment in appropriate situations.
  • Do not undertake roles or tasks outside of your competence.
  • Report any untoward incidents or accidents using the DATIX system.
  • Comply with safety, IR(ME)R & IRR regulations, radiation protection standards for staff, patients and visitors.
  • Adhere to safety, fire, health and COSHH regulations to ensure safe working practices.
  • Adhere to the Data Protection Act; breach of confidentiality may result in disciplinary action.
  • Participate in staff appraisal and agree personal and professional development plans with your line manager.
  • Maintain a high standard of work and adhere to Directorate Quality Standards; show evidence of continuing professional development.
  • Keep up to date with current imaging techniques and Trust issues.

  • Be aware of and comply with systems of work, local rules and policies ensuring a safe environment for staff, patients, and visitors.
Teaching and Training

The Trust supports consultants in continuing professional development and provides time and funding. The appointee is expected to participate in CPD and meet College requirements. The Trust is committed to safeguarding and promoting welfare and expects all staff to support these commitments.

If successful, this vacancy will require an enhanced DBS check at a cost of £54.90. This cost will be deducted from your first Trust salary. In addition, you will join the DBS update service and pay the annual subscription fee of £16.

  • Has GMC Registration
  • RCR part 2b
Experience
  • Evidence of GI experience
  • Evidence of drainage / biopsy experience
  • Evidence of Complex Ultrasound
Leadership
  • Experience contributing to a GI subspeciality MDT
  • Experience running a GI subspeciality MDT

Salary: £109,725 to £145,478 per annum, pro rata
