Job Description:Gibraltar is a beautiful location to work in. It has a Mediterranean climate, breathtaking landscapes, and beautiful beaches!
British Overseas Territory at the southernmost tip of the Iberian Peninsula, easily reached in just over 2 hours (flying time) from London, Bristol, or Manchester airports. English is the official language, with Spanish widely spoken.
The post holder will be working as part of a team of three Consultants. There are five theatres including a dedicated Day Case Unit, offering DGH level ENT, Maxillofacial Surgery, Dental Surgery, General Surgery (including colorectal and bariatric), Urology, Orthopaedics & Trauma, Gynae & Obs, Ophthalmics, and Chronic Pain, providing a varied clinical workload. On-call duties are currently 1 in 3 off-site, whereby Consultants are called for advice, review of admissions, and urgent assessments of patients in the Emergency Department.
Main Duties:
- Work with colleagues to provide a Consultant-led service with the highest standard of care.
- Collaborate with the multi-professional team to develop care pathways and clinical guidelines.
- Develop and maintain good working practices with wards, outpatients, and the ED department.
- Possess clinical skills in all aspects of ENT surgery.
- Offer expert clinical opinions on a range of problems within ENT surgery.
Requirements:
- Full GMC Registration with a Licence to Practice
- Be on the GMC Specialist Register for ENT
- Applicants must, by virtue of citizenship or residence, be entitled to take up employment in Gibraltar and be or will be resident there.
- Non-EU nationals should note that a Schengen Visa is required to transit through Europe, obtained from the applicant's place of residence. Schengen Visas cannot be obtained through Gibraltar.
- Experience in Otology is required.
Travel costs are reimbursed, and rent-free accommodation is provided!
Total Remuneration including on-calls: £146,628.30 to £180,922.30 per annum (based on experience).
