Construction Quality Manager, Special Projects
Posted 4 hours 5 minutes ago by NEWLON HOUSING TRUST
Newlon Housing Trust is a successful charitable housing association and one of the major providers of new affordable housing in north and east London.
This is an interesting and varied role, taking responsibility for the quality control of remediation works. This will be achieved by regular visits to various project sites, where you will carry out inspections, pick up non-compliance and building defects/snagging and keep detailed records to ensure work is carried out to the highest possible quality levels.
You'll also scrutinise drawings and specifications of projects both prior to, during and post site commencement, making regular reports on the various Constructors and sub-contractors performance and addressing issues with Newlon's Project Managers, Employers Agents, Contractors and other Stakeholders.
Compliance with both Newlon's and related official Statutory standards, the contract documents and all relevant legislation is paramount, and your methodical approach and keen eye for detail will enable you to identify, control and resolve any issues that arise.
You will already have proven relevant Quality Management experience in a similar role, together with a BTEC or SQA national award or higher in Building/Construction (or equivalent knowledge, aptitude and drive to learn and deliver the service).
Experience of snagging and handover of projects is essential, as is a background of inspecting relevant projects and of auditing information prior to the commencement of works. Thorough knowledge of the building process and the roles of the different professions is also essential, as is an understanding of statutory regulations and mechanical and electrical installations.
In return, you can expect 27 days holiday, a non-contributory pension, excellent benefits and a flexi scheme. You'll also be working out of purpose-built offices that form part of the award-winning Hale Village regeneration project, and are situated just two minutes' walk from the major transport interchange at Tottenham Hale.
