We're hiring a Compliance Manager to join a leading international player at the intersection of tech and sports, known for innovation and rapid growth. In this second-line defence role, you'll play a pivotal part in strengthening internal compliance frameworks. Your core responsibility will be testing the effectiveness of controls related to regulatory requirements, particularly in the context of sports betting or similarly regulated sectors. Working cross-functionally, you'll support improvements, drive compliance strategy, and ensure issues are promptly identified and escalated.
You'll also manage key areas such as Anti-Money Laundering (AML) and Anti-Bribery and Corruption (ABC), oversee policy implementation, maintain registers, and contribute to training and awareness initiatives. The role will evolve as the business grows, offering variety and strategic input.
Hybrid working - 2 days at the office in London
Responsibilities:

Testing internal controls for effectiveness in a regulated environment

Collaborating with business units to address gaps and implement remediation plans

Escalating material compliance issues to senior stakeholders

Preparing quarterly compliance reports and contributing to board-level discussions

Managing policies related to AML, ABC, gifts, hospitality, and conflicts of interest

Conducting risk assessments and maintaining compliance training frameworks

Advising on compliance topics and supporting awareness campaigns

Staying informed on regulatory developments and assessing their impact on the business
Experience:

A bachelor's degree in a relevant discipline (compliance certifications a plus)

Minimum 5 years' experience in a compliance or control testing role within a regulated sector (eg gambling, fintech, banking, insurance)

Proven experience testing internal controls in a regulatory context

Strong problem-solving abilities and a proactive, solution-oriented approach

Comfortable handling shifting priorities in a high-growth environment

Confident communicator with strong organisational and stakeholder management skills
