About the RoleReporting to the Engineering Operations Manager, this role is part of the Asset Care team within Maturation South Engineering Centre, covering all Maturation South sites. The goal is to ensure compliance in Asset Care activities, complete statutory and legislative tasks timely, and keep SAP and KPI reports updated. The role requires maintaining an audit-ready status.
The Compliance Engineer will collaborate with Site Management, Maintenance teams, and Risk & Governance to ensure maintenance activities meet legislative standards and company policies, aiming for zero harm, legal compliance, and reputation protection.
Key Responsibilities- Manage the British Engineering Services Database of statutory inspections and maintenance activities, ensuring SAP and database are current, and create work orders.
- Ensure compliance with legislative tasks in SAP, including Pressure Systems, Lifting Equipment, Lightning Protection, HV/LV, SIL, and PUWER.
- Manage compliance activities: plant availability, safe access, isolations, risk assessments, method statements, permits.
- Complete and file Safety Instrumented Systems documentation, and audit regularly.
- Follow Management of Change procedures, ensuring actions are completed.
- Coordinate maintenance documentation across SAP, EQMS, Enablon, and SharePoint.
- Maintain compliance metrics and visual management data.
- Support technical documentation, surveys, standards implementation, audits, and compliance initiatives.
- Promote safety culture, participate in safety meetings and audits.
- Stay updated on legislation, attend seminars, and develop compliance knowledge.
- Participate in Manufacturing Excellence initiatives.
- Hold a full clean UK driving license.
- Technical background in Mechanical or Electrical engineering.
- Understanding of Health & Safety; training provided (e.g., NEBOSH, COMPEX).
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Strong organizational skills, capable of managing multiple activities.
- Effective workload management, prioritization, and deadline adherence.
- Proficiency in PC skills.
- Knowledge of legislative requirements supporting decision-making.
- Proactive in self-development.
- Ability to present and coach others on compliance matters.
