A welcoming and well-established SEN specialist school in Stroud is seeking a dedicated and compassionate Teaching Assistant to join their supportive team. This is a fantastic opportunity to work in a nurturing environment supporting pupils with a range of complex learning needs.
About the Role - Complex Needs Teaching Assistant
Responsibilities- Supporting pupils on a 1:1 or small group basis within the classroom
- Assisting with differentiated learning activities tailored to individual needs
- Encouraging communication, independence, and social development
- Supporting sensory regulation and structured routines
- Working collaboratively with teachers and wider specialist staff
- Promoting a safe, calm and inclusive learning environment
- Patient, nurturing and emotionally resilient
- Passionate about supporting children with additional needs
- Confident working within structured routines and supportive environments
- Able to build strong, positive relationships with pupils
- Adaptable and proactive in supporting learning and wellbeing
Candidates with experience as an SEN Teaching Assistant or Learning Support Assistant would be highly beneficial, particularly those with a background supporting autism or complex needs. We also welcome applicants from care, youth work, psychology, or wider support work backgrounds, as well as individuals who have experience working within EHCP-led provision, although this is desirable rather than essential.
