Companion / Personal Assistant

A young man living in Kelso is looking for a reliable and outgoing Companion/Personal Assistant to support him in enjoying social and leisure activities.
This is a direct-employment role with the individual client.

Main Tasks & Responsibilities

• Accompany the client to swimming sessions
• Enjoy trips to the cinema
• Provide support for days out, such as visits to Eyemouth and other local outings
• Offer companionship and help create a relaxed, positive atmosphere
• Ensure safety and wellbeing while encouraging independence

Person Specification Personal Qualities

• Warm, sociable and patient
• Reliable, trustworthy and able to use your own initiative
• Comfortable engaging in leisure activities and supporting someone in the community

Skills & Experience

• Experience in a support or care role is helpful but not essential
• A full driving licence and access to a car would be an advantage for trips and outings

Terms

• Hours: Up to 12 hours per week (flexible scheduling to be agreed)
• Pay Rate: £13.20 per hour
• Holiday Entitlement: 5.6 weeks annual leave pro rata
• Mileage can be negotiated with employer
• Statutory employment rights apply, including holiday pay as stated above
• Appointment is subject to a PVG / Disclosure Scotland check
