Helping to keep pets and their people together is at the heart of what we do in the Pet Food Bank team. By joining us, you'll be supporting more pets to stay in their homes, together with their dedicated owners.
As a Community Volunteer, you will play a vital role in keeping our operations running smoothly. This is a fantastic opportunity for someone who loves staying organised and wants to help local communities and animals.
Why we want youOur Community Volunteers play a vital role in helping to expand the reach of the RSPCA, enabling us to help those pet owners most in need.
What You'll Be Doing- Helping to manage stock rotation at our storage sites and assisting the Regional Coordinator to ensure units are tidy and well supplied.
- Delivering monthly pet food donations to our community partners.
- Potential opportunity to support at our "Community Paws" events.
- Assisting with our Pet Foodbank Scheme.
- Monitoring stock levels and quality of stock to ensure that regular, sustainable supplies of pet food are available to families in need via food bank partners across the designated region.
- Assisting pet owners most in need to enable them to keep their pets.
- Supporting community events.
- Liaising with schools and community groups in your local area, offering talks and educational resources.
Location: You should be based within a reasonable distance of our Southridge Animal Centre (EN6), with deliveries to food banks across the Thames Valley region.
Flexibility: This role is designed to fit your schedule. We welcome volunteers who can support us when they are available (pending Community Partner opening times).
Requirements: The role involves driving and some heavy lifting. While we provide full training and manual handling guidance, please ensure this aligns with your physical capabilities. You will also require access to your own vehicle.

- Capable of working independently as well as working with a team.
- Organised and good at planning with strong attention to detail.
- Training, guidance and support to help you carry out your role effectively.
