Are you passionate about creating welcoming spaces that bring people and communities together? If so, you could be our next Community Engagement Coordinator, playing a key role in the day-to-day operation and use of The Invention Rooms, Imperial College London's community-facing space at White City Campus. You will coordinate the safe, accessible and effective use of the i-zone, while supporting a diverse programme of public and community engagement activities and helping to strengthen connections between Imperial and our local community.
This is an exciting opportunity for a highly organised and proactive individual to help shape a high-quality community space, support impactful engagement activity and contribute to Imperial's civic and Public & Community Engagement (PCE) work in White City.
What you would be doing- Coordinate and oversee the day-to-day operation of the i-zone, managing its use and ensuring it is welcoming, safe, inclusive and accessible. You will also help shape its future in response to changing needs and the evolving White City Campus.
- Support the delivery of PCE programmes and activities, working closely with programme leads and the Community Engagement Assistant to ensure they are well organised and delivered effectively.
- Build and maintain positive relationships with local and internal stakeholders, including community partners, Imperial teams and other building users, creating opportunities for collaboration and strengthening engagement with the local community.
We're looking for a highly organised, practical, proactive, adaptable and collaborative individual to join our friendly and dynamic Public & Community Engagement Team who:
- Has experience coordinating a community venue, event space or similar public-facing environment, with a strong understanding of day-to-day operations and the importance of creating welcoming and safe spaces.
- Is highly organised with strong coordination and problem-solving skills, able to manage competing priorities, take initiative and respond effectively to changing operational requirements.
- Possesses excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build positive relationships with a diverse range of colleagues, community partners, visitors and other stakeholders.

This full-time, fixed-term role is for 2 years, is primarily based at our White City Campus, and requires evening and weekend work to support community activities.
