THE ROLE

A Solicitor or Legal Executive with 4pqe+ to join a fast paced, rapidly growing and highly regarded Community Care & Welfare team.

Reporting to the Partner and Head of Team, you will manage your own caseload of privately fee paying clients and play a key role in supervising junior fee earners and contributing to the development of this specialist area of law.

The team specialises in the provision of highly tailored education, health, social care and welfare advice to Court of Protection Deputies, their clients and professionals in respect of children and adults living with a disability, injury or illness.

ABOUT YOU

Solid experience in Community Care/Public Law and/or Court of Protection matters, including overlapping issues relating to Property & Affairs and Health & Welfare.

• Experience of working with and advising Court of Protection Deputies, their clients and professionals such as case managers.
• Proven ability to independently manage a complex caseload of privately fee paying clients, including cases with the need for a multi pronged approach involving public law and Court of Protection remedies.
• Strong advocacy, negotiation and communication skills.
• Excellent client care and organisational abilities.
• Experience supervising or mentoring junior fee earners and a desire to assist the Head of Team with developing junior fee earners.
• Confident IT user, including Microsoft Office.

Ideally also

• Experience in Court of Protection Property & Affairs more widely and/or Special Educational Needs law.
• Involvement in business development, training delivery or marketing initiatives.
