Job Description
Job responsibilities
  • Assist the Chef de Partie in preparing food and performing basic cooking tasks.
  • Work in the kitchen areas: vegetables, fish, meat, sauces, on a six month rotation programme.
  • Support all chefs to manage and deliver catering services throughout the home, ensuring resident choice, dignity, confidentiality, and safety.
  • Participate in meetings with residents and Heads of Departments to discuss catering functions and address residents' special needs or dietary requirements (cultural and religious preferences).
  • Prepare nutritional food and beverages to a high standard and in accordance with agreed mealtimes.
  • Prepare special diet meals as directed by the chefs.
Qualifications and experience
  • Hold a catering qualification such as City & Guilds 706/1 and 706/2, NVQ or equivalent.
  • Hold a Basic Food Hygiene Certificate.
  • Have a minimum of 1 year of catering experience.
  • Demonstrate compassion and commitment to high quality culinary services for residents.
  • Be adaptive and flexible to cover a range of responsibilities on short notice.

  • Proof of eligibility to work in the UK.
