We have a fantastic opportunity for a Commis Chef with a passion for creating exceptional dishes, within Kitchen brigade at Trump Turnberry.

Position

As a key part of the kitchen team, you are expected to be committed to producing an exceptional quality of food at all times. Your work should be carried out in a professional and safe manner, to the best of your abilities and following the guidance of your senior chefs. A commis chef should take pride in their job, look after their working environment and respect the produce you work with.

Job Functions

• To work as part of the kitchen team, communicating well with others to ensure a smooth service of food, to provide support to others if under pressure and to ask for help if it is required to meet our service standards.
• Have full awareness of all menu items for the section of the kitchen allocated, to have copies of all relevant menus, recipes and dish specifications as required.
• To understand what the kitchen hygiene standards are and to ensure that your working area and fridges meet that requirement.
• To respect the food produce at all times, making sure that it is stored, prepared and cooked as instructed, reporting any potential food wastage to the Senior chef.
• Ensure that the correct HASSAP procedure is followed with regards to food delivery, storage, rotation and temperature recording.
• To drive a clean as you go policy within the team, ensure all areas reach the required standard and complete the cleaning and close down procedure as specified.

Job Requirements

• Must be eligible to work within the UK.
• Must be able to communicate comfortably in both spoken & written English.
• Must be able to conform to our strict grooming policy in line with our 5 red star brand standards.
• Knowledge and experience within a similar kitchen environment is essential.
• Some supervisory experience would be an advantage.
• The candidate should be able to work in a team and also show leadership qualities.
