Here at Harrods, we are responsible for producing the pastries, desserts and chocolates for more than 20 restaurants, exclusive dining brands, and world famous food halls.
About the RoleAs a Pastry Commis Chef in our Pastry kitchen you will be at the heart of the action, preparing a variety of patisserie and desserts, organising ingredients, and maintaining a clean kitchen.
You report to the Chef de Partie and play a key role in the smooth operation and delivery of kitchen operations. Your responsibilities include:
- Organising and rotating stock, and labelling food stored to meet deadlines.
- Completing all administrative tasks for your section.
- Ensuring food safety standards are adhered to by enforcing high hygiene and sanitation.
The role is fully on site, working five days a week.
About YouWe are looking for a candidate with:
- Great knowledge and passion for food and drink.
- Experience in a professional pastry kitchen, ideally within a 5 hotel, artisan bakery, or fine dining restaurant.
- Strong time management, customer focus, interpersonal skills and attention to detail, reflected in completed paperwork, department organisation and sufficient stock levels.
In return for your hard work as a Commis Chef you will receive:
- Competitive salary package plus service charge.
- Set contracted hours - paid additional working hours at an overtime rate of 1.5p/h.
- Minimal late evenings by industry standard - majority finished by 10pm.
