The Firm

Anthony Gold is a boutique firm based in London Bridge. Our team has extensive experience handling a variety of complex civil litigation cases. Representing both individuals and organisations, this role offers the opportunity to work on a range of medium to high-value disputes, typically for claimants, in diverse areas of civil litigation practice, including professional negligence, property ownership disputes, fiduciary disputes, and contractual disputes.

The Role
  • Working on cases from initial instruction through to conclusion, including compliance with court deadlines and civil litigation procedural requirements.
  • Negotiating settlements and alternative dispute resolutions on behalf of clients
  • Attending court hearings, case management conferences, and trials, representing clients or instructing counsel as required.
  • Maintaining accurate and up-to-date records of all client interactions and case progress using the firm's case management system.
  • Liaising with clients, courts, experts and other solicitors in a professional and timely manner.
  • Ensuring all activities comply with the SRA Code of Conduct and other regulatory requirements.
  • This role involves providing support to partners on larger cases alongside handling an appropriate case load under supervision.
  • Opportunity to work with the support of trainees or paralegals and appropriately delegate tasks to them under supervision.
  • You will be required to participate in business development and other marketing initiatives in line with the agreed-upon business pla n.
Person Specification
  • Experience of civil litigation required. The candidate should have experience handling contentious work and be familiar with CPR and working within court guidelines.
  • The candidate should have good academic qualifications and be able to demonstrate their legal knowledge.
  • Experience of dealing with costs, independent billing and cost assessments is desired.
  • Strong negotiation skills with the ability to explain complex legal matters clearly to clients and communicate with opponents.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
  • Attention to detail and high standards of accuracy in all documentation
  • Organisational and time management skills, with the ability to handle multiple cases simultaneously.
  • Ability to maintain client confidentiality and demonstrate sound professional judgement.
  • Excellent client-facing and relationship-building skills,
  • Able to handle new work and actively engage in the onboarding process.
  • Business development and networking skills.
  • Experience of using case management systems, Microsoft programmes and e-disclosure platforms
  • Understanding of SRA rules, code of conduct, and compliance obligations.
  • Experience working under Lexcel or equivalent quality standards
Qualifications
  • Qualified Solicitor with a current practising certificate in England and Wales.
  • 2-4 years of experience in a similar role at a reputable firm.
  • Post-qualification experience in civil litigation.
  • Knowledge in one or more of the practice areas: professional negligence, contract disputes, property ownership disputes, and fiduciary disputes.
