Overview:

O'Neill & Brennan are currently recruiting an experienced Commercial Manager on behalf of our client, a leading contractor. This is a senior management position with responsibility for overseeing the commercial function and supporting the company's continued growth and profitability.

Key Responsibilities:

• Lead and manage the Commercial Department, setting performance objectives and driving continuous improvement.
• Oversee project financial performance, including cost planning, budgeting, forecasting, margins and cash flow.
• Develop and implement commercial strategies aligned with company and project objectives.
• Oversee the preparation, negotiation and management of major contracts and subcontracts.
• Identify and manage commercial and contractual risks, implementing appropriate mitigation strategies. Support key client relationships and represent the company at external meetings and negotiations.

Requirements:

• Degree qualification in Quantity Surveying, Construction Management or a related discipline.
• Proven experience in a senior Commercial Management position within the construction industry.
• Previous experience managing and developing commercial teams.
• Strong understanding of project financial management, contracts and commercial reporting.
• Excellent communication, negotiation and stakeholder management skills.
• Strong organisational and problem-solving abilities with a pragmatic approach.
